Managing Data for use by the machine and the human

One of the key features of a Data Strategy for a data driven business is that data will be managed for use firstly by the machine, then by the human. The machine helps the human to manage data.

In addition to having a clear data model, this requires labelling data using meta data and an ontology to make the data usable by the machine.

The data can then be listed in a data catalogue.

Embed collaboration between people & machines

The human role in data management is to determine what data is needed and review the quality and fitness for purpose of data.

The machine can do the analytical work of finding, collecting, sorting and organising data on behalf of the human.

This enables a new collaboration between the machine and the human.
