Discover the Metaverse
The Metaverse (or Omniverse) is a new concept that represents the convergence of a range of developments into a new evolution of internet. There is no fixed definition as yet but a number of companies including Microsoft, Facebook and NVIDIA are working hard to evolve the concept into a mainstream service – and this is getting closer!
When we use the term Metaverse we are also covering related terms including Web3, Augmented Reality, Synthetic Humans (Avatars) and Immersive Technology!
Metaverse – the future of internet
Think of the Metaverse as the next version of internet, replacing your normal browser and websites (which work in two-dimensions with text) with a fully immersive three dimensional experience in which you can do everything you do on internet but in a virtual world. This will combine:
- Virtual reality and gaming technologies with 3D worlds
- Users as avatars who can interact with each other
- Real time digital twins of everything we have today
- Augmented reality to enable an immersive experience
- Data exchange and business marketplaces
- Tokens to enable product authentication and trading
- Payment for goods and services
In short – Metaverse takes internet from 2 to 3 dimensions. The role of “Web3” is included in our approach to Metaverse.
