This learning journey covers the basic risk management skills which all risk managers and compliance officers should master. We cover risk awareness and human behaviour with respect to risk, the risk management framework, risk cycle, in control approach and ongoing monitoring and reporting including data visualisation.
The course is designed as a Foundation level for all risk management professionals or for business managers with responsibility for risk in their domain. The participant will learn why risk management is important, how to convince business managers of this and what risk management includes together with the “how to do it” activities within the risk framework and risk cycle.
Learning objectives
- Become aware of why risk management is necessary
- Understand the psychology of taking risk
- Explore what risk management is
- Review the risk management framework
- Learn each step in the risk management cycle
- Build your own risk overview with mitigating actions
We also offer variants of this course which combine organisation specific policy or GRC system training together with the generic risk learning modules of this course. We walk through the risk cycle and update a risk profile in steps – this can be offered using your in-company GRC system to capture the outcome of each step.
